Public Hearings for 2017 Bond
On January 9, 2017, the Hays CISD School Board voted to accept the recommendation of the Growth Impact Committee to allow the Board to continue with the bond development process and hold public forums regarding the recommendation.
This means the Board will hold a series of public hearings to get feedback. Based on that feedback, the Board will either send the bond proposal to the voters as is OR the Board will update the proposal based on community feedback and then send the measure to the voters for the ultimate decision.
After the conclusion of the public forums, a special Board meeting will be held on February 6, 2017 to determine the final contents of the bond package. Then legal counsel will draw up the Call for Election and the Board will call for an election at a special meeting on February 13, 2017. The election will be on May 6, 2016.
